Vastward was built to work without accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking. Your game progress stays on your device and is not sent to me.

01 · SCOPE

Who this policy covers

This policy describes the privacy practices of Vastward for iPhone and iPad, the Vastward pages at games.cfsam.org, and support messages sent about the game. Vastward is developed and operated by Carl Samuelson.

If another cfsam.org game links to this shared privacy page, its practices will be named here before that game is published.

02 · THE APP

Vastward does not collect your data

Vastward does not transmit personal information or gameplay information to the developer or to a third party. The app has:

  • No account, login, or player identifier
  • No advertising or advertising identifiers
  • No analytics, tracking, or third-party software development kits
  • No developer-operated servers or cloud save
  • No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or notification access
  • No in-app purchases in the current version

Personal data is not sold, rented, shared for behavioral advertising, or used to track you across apps and websites.

03 · ON-DEVICE STORAGE

What stays on your device

Vastward stores gameplay state locally so the game can resume where you left it. This includes Power, system upgrades, completed restorations, Echo balances and purchases, Founding Voyages, fleet records, dispatch state, Command Momentum, Salvage Drift charges and scores, and save timestamps.

This information remains in the app’s local storage and is not accessible to me. It remains until you delete the app and its data. Using Offload App may preserve documents and data; use Delete App if you intend to remove the local save.

Your Apple device backup may include app data depending on your iOS, iPadOS, and backup settings. Apple controls that backup process; Vastward does not operate or access it.

04 · APPLE SERVICES

Distribution and optional diagnostics

Apple processes App Store and TestFlight activity under its own policies. If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your Apple privacy settings, Apple may make crash or performance information available to me. Vastward does not add a separate crash-reporting or analytics service.

05 · SUPPORT

Information you choose to send

If you email for support, I receive the email address, message, attachments, and technical details you choose to provide. I use that information only to answer your request, troubleshoot the game, maintain a useful support history, and protect the support channel from abuse.

Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet a legal obligation. You may ask for your support correspondence to be deleted by emailing Carl@cfsam.org.

06 · THIS WEBSITE

Technical delivery data

The Vastward pages do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. They are delivered through Cloudflare, which may automatically process standard request information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested page, timestamp, and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain operational logs.

This technical information is not used to build advertising profiles. It is retained according to the hosting service’s configured periods. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for information about its processing.

07 · CHILDREN

General audience

Vastward is intended for a general audience. Because the app does not collect personal data, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support email, contact me so it can be deleted.

08 · RETENTION AND CHOICES

You control the local save

You may stop all app processing by closing Vastward. You may remove locally stored progress by deleting the app and its data. There is no account to close and no developer-held gameplay record to delete.

For support correspondence, you may request access, correction, or deletion by using the contact information below. Because Vastward does not receive your local gameplay data, I cannot retrieve, correct, or restore it.

09 · CHANGES

If the game changes, this page changes first

If Vastward later adds a network service, analytics, accounts, purchases, advertising, or another practice that affects privacy, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before that collection begins. The effective date at the top will identify the latest revision.
